To add an extra layer of security, you can require opt-in verification for new contacts added from surveys and/or forms.
This means that when a contact submits their details on your form/survey, they will need to confirm their choice to opt-in through the opt-in trigger email.
How to enable opt-in verification
To set up opt-in verification on your forms and/or surveys, navigate to the 'Opt-in Settings' page in your account settings.
From here, simply select the toggles on the 'Opt-in Settings' page.
When you're done, click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.
What happens to new contacts when I have opt-in verification enabled?
When a contact submits their details on your form/survey, they will be sent an automated trigger email asking them to confirm their opt-in status. (This will be a default email sent from Wired Plus, unless you set up your own opt-in email.)
Once the contact confirms via the trigger email, their opt-in status will be classed as 'Verified Double' and they will be added to your active contacts.
If they don't confirm via the trigger email, they won't be added as an active contact - they will be classed as 'Pending'.
If a contact rejects the opt-in message via the trigger email, the contact will move from 'Pending' to 'Suppressed'.
What happens to new contacts when I don't have opt-in verification enabled?
If you don't have opt-in verification enabled on your account, any new contacts that submit their details on your form/survey will immediately be added as an active contact with a 'single opt-in' status. They won't receive an opt-in email to their verify their email address.
